What is the RAM Recall?

The main objective of RAM recalls check is to address safety issues of vehicles with defects, even minor ones e.g RAM airbag recall. A defect can be exposed in numerous ways, including an in-house review conducted by auto manufacturers, customer complaints, or disastrous accidents related to the defect. An auto recall is issued when a manufacturer or National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) finds out that a vehicle’s specific part creates an arbitrary safety risk or fails to meet minimum safety standards.

When buying a used vehicle, it is important to check if it has any prior safety recalls. You can check RAM recalls by VIN number.  Simply, enter the VIN number in our  VIN check tool and let us handle the rest for you!

There is a recall on my RAM, what next?

If your car has any open safety recall, your Auto Manufacturer is responsible to fix the problem by repairing, offering a refund, replacing the car, or repurchasing the vehicle. According to the Safety Recall outline, auto manufacturers are needed to notify vehicle owners about the problem within 60 days. If an owner could not get it repaired within time, the vehicle continues to have an open recall. Even if you have not been notified by your manufacturer, you are still eligible for a remedy on the recalled vehicle. If your RAM is recalled, you don’t need to worry about the repair cost. All costs associated with the repair or replacement are completely the responsibility of the dealer or manufacturer.

Whether a safety recall is accompanied by the auto manufacturer or is ordered by the NHTSA, a public report must be filed giving the following information:

– The safety-related defect or noncompliance with a federal motor vehicle safety standard

– The number of involved vehicle/equipment

– The major events that caused the recall determination

– A description of the remedy

– A schedule for the recall

⚙️ What to Do If Your RAM Has a Recall

Finding an open recall on your vehicle is a call to action, not a cause for panic. Follow these steps:

Step 1: Understand the Risk

Read the recall notice carefully. It will describe the safety defect, the potential risks (e.g., “increased risk of a fire,” “passenger airbag may not deploy”), and any warning signs. Some recalls are more urgent than others.

Step 2: Contact a Dealership

Call your preferred authorized RAM dealer to schedule the repair. You are not obligated to use the dealership where you purchased the vehicle. Inform them of the recall number from your notice or VIN lookup.

Step 3: Get the Repair Done

Bring your vehicle in at the scheduled time. The repair and any related parts (like a rental car if the repair takes more than a day) should be provided at no cost to you. Ensure you receive documentation that the recall has been closed on your vehicle’s history.

Can a vehicle you are purchasing have an open recall?

When buying a used vehicle, it is important to check if it has any prior safety recalls. An open recall may not be necessary when buying a new car because the manufacturer is bound by law to fix it.  For all major and minor safety concerns, car recalls are issues that happen all the time. So whether you bought your vehicle new or used, once there is an open recall on your vehicle, you are eligible for a repair or replacement at no cost. Use our service to do a car recall check by supplying the details in the form above.
